Sunderland 0-2 Arsenal
Arsenal left it late at the Stadium of Light, with Bukayo Saka's stoppage-time penalty sealing the points after Bruno Guimaraes had put the visitors ahead with a stunning strike midway through the second half. Guimaraes' 58th-minute effort flew in from distance to break the deadlock, and Sunderland were reduced to ten men late on when Reinildo Mandava was shown a straight red card. David Raya then produced a big moment at the other end, saving Sunderland's resulting penalty from Le Fee, before Saka made no mistake from the spot himself deep into stoppage time to make the win safe.
Tottenham 0-0 Everton
Tottenham's frustrating start to the season continued as they were held goalless at home by Everton, a first-ever Premier League draw without a goal at their current stadium. Spurs have now gone 407 minutes without scoring in the league, denied by a resolute Everton backline marshalled by Jordan Pickford, who recorded the 100th clean sheet of his Premier League career. Everton, for their part, rarely threatened at the other end but will be pleased to leave north London with a point.
Lazio 2-2 AC Milan
AC Milan fought back from two goals down to salvage a draw at the Stadio Olimpico in an entertaining five-goal contest. Matteo Cancellieri put Lazio ahead in the 10th minute and Tijjani Noslin doubled the hosts' advantage in the 39th, leaving Milan facing an uphill task at the break. Ruben Amorim responded with a triple substitution at half-time, and the changes paid off as Diego Moreira struck twice in the space of two second-half minutes, levelling the score in the 65th and 67th minutes to earn Milan a share of the spoils.
Atalanta 1-2 Cagliari
Cagliari made it back-to-back wins with victory at Atalanta, moving to nine points from their opening matches for their best start to a Serie A season in years. Cagliari broke the deadlock in the 19th minute, and although Gianluca Scamacca levelled for the hosts right on the stroke of half-time in the 45th, Adam Maldini restored Cagliari's lead from the penalty spot just after the hour to seal the win for the Sardinians.
FC Koln 3-1 Werder Bremen
FC Koln finally ended a run of nine matches without a win under coach Rene Wagner, beating ten-man Werder Bremen at home. Said El Mala converted an early penalty in the 7th minute to give Koln the lead, and the hosts' task was made easier when Bremen's Marco Friedl was sent off in the 24th minute for a last-man foul. Koln made the numerical advantage count through Ache in the 65th minute, and although Bremen pulled a goal back through a stoppage-time Romano Schmid penalty, Jon Jóhannesson had the final word deep into added time to make it 3-1 to the hosts.
